I Skyped with my friend Ginger* over the weekend. And just like last time we laughed a lot (until our faces hurt) and we tried to fit a lifetime of experiences and memories into two hours. And it seems that all I managed to do is confuse the hell out of her! So much so that she wanted me to ship pictures of my town to her so that she could wrap her mind around how we live.
Ginger is all "cosmopolitan" because she lives in a million+ population city and I live in Podunk, population 3500. My tales of Tractor Day in our high school, where we drove our tractors to school, no I'm not making this shit up and cruising a gravie (cruising but on gravel roads, usually with "adult" beverages) didn't seem to jive with her idea of townie living. So over the next few weeks I'll show you around.
Well it's Monday again. It's time to take a second for yourself! So take a few deep breaths, find your inner calm--if necessary lock the kids in their closets. Enjoy!
