Hi and welcome to my blog. I really think parents need to lighten up; I mean, if parenting was meant to be a serious endeavor they'd offer classes! Oh, wait....

Human Nature vs. Laundry

Sometimes, against my better judgement, I do something completely out of character for me; I become a "Fun Mommy".  I know, right?!?  The Mommy whose favorite threat is, "Don't make me beat you in public" has been known to have moments of fun-ness.  When people aren't watching... and no one can prove it was me....  In this instance, it was in the name of business.  I needed models so that I could practice my craft and my children pretty much run and hide when I break out the Canon.

We made a compromise....

If they wore rain boots, they could check out the puddles.
And for awhile that was fine.  They explored.  They CAREFULLY checked
out what was  left over from the storm.  They found sticks, and rocks,
and mud, but mostly we all found that you
just can't hold out against your nature.
Yeah, human nature... for an almost four year-old boy that means:
Have puddle, must jump!

And then for some it means staying away from almost four year-old boys
who are jumping in mud puddles!
And this is the closest she got to the mud puddle that day.

I did learn that being the "Fun Mommy" means that you have
a lot more laundry to do.
I'm not so sure it's worth it....

Love it! Those are fabulous pictures. I'm glad you guys had so much fun.
I'm with you, I don't know how often I can do fun things that involve extra laundry. Maybe when my kids can wash their own clothes.

Once in a blue moon I let the kids do stuff like that. Messy stuff is really Daddy's area of expertise.

Thanks for the comments!
